LOVE BINS
Matthew 25:35-40 NIV 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Love is a Verb prepares the bins, which are filled with everyday essentials to be passed out to individuals experiencing homelessness or living out of their car. It also includes uplifting Bible verses. These bins are made with material that can withstand the weather and other unfavorable conditions.
Love Bins are also provided to:

Proverbs 24:3-4 NIV 3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; 4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Love is a Verb shows the love of Christ by providing bins that are given to women and families who are coming out of homelessness, domestic violence situations, or treatment centers and moving into their own home. These bins include a prayer blessing for the home, a shower curtain, bathroom floor mats, soap and toothbrush holder, a set of pot holders, a dish set, and a small set of pots and pans.

Love is a Verb collects donations for new luggage and donates them to Montgomery County Children Services, for children that are currently in or will enter into the foster care system. Every child deserves to travel their journey, with their belongings in a suitcase that they own and not a trash bag.

The Family Resource Connection at Dayton Children's
The Family Resource Connection screens patient families for unmet social needs and connects families with local community resources to address needs. Commodities are among the most common needs that are identified.
- In 2022, Love is a Verb generously donated 75 Love Bins to the Family Resource Connection at Dayton Children’s. The Love Bins contain essential travel size items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant. The Love Bins were provided to patient families through our Back-to-School initiative and Christmas assistance program. By providing basic needs like personal care items, it helps lessen the burden on families. Thanks to Love is a Verb, the Family Resource Connection was able to support an additional 75 families with personal care items.
Montgomery County Children Services
- We had a youth come into custody after being removed due to neglect. This youth came to our office with most of his belongings in trash bags. We were unstable to locate a suitable placement for this youth and he was forced to stay at our office. Placement was finally located about a week later and this youth was placed in a foster home in Cincinnati . I was able to provide suitcases and a duffle bag for him thanks to the generous donations from The Love Is A Verb Team. This youth is doing well with his foster placement and he is on track to graduate.
- We have custody of a sibling group originally from the Republic of Congo. These siblings were having difficulty adjusting to the new surroundings. The siblings were placed with a foster family that did not have a lot of experience with children of color. I worked with the family and siblings to help bridge the cultural gap. One issue that seemed to persist was the lack of hair care products for the siblings. I was able to provide the siblings with necessary hair care products with the donation received from the Love Is A Verb Team. The sibling continue to adjust to their new surrounds and they’re doing well with their schooling.

Sunshine Care Bags
Through our Sunshine Care Bags, we hope to bring "a warm ray of sunshine" to women who may be experiencing a difficult time in their life journey. These bags are put together with LOVE and are delivered once a year, during the month of May, to one or divided between the following organizations, pending the donation support received towards this initiative.

Easter Basket Project
It is truly an honor for the Love is a Verb Team, to assemble Easter Baskets each year, for the children who are receiving shelter services, at the Shelter for Women and Children. These baskets include but are not limited to the following items: an activity book, crayons, a small toy, and an assortment of candy. Our goal each year, is to assemble 75 baskets.
Dignity and Confidence Kits
Dignity and Confidence Kits are created to assist foster families who are unfamiliar or who have limited experience with the hair care for children of color. These kits will consist of a comb, brush, shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, and/or hair gel, a bonnet or a wave cap/durag, and other essential items. Dignity and Confidence Kit donation deliveries are made annually, to Montgomery County Children Services each Fall (around back to school time) and other various times throughout the year; pending donation support.
